Capcom will add Arjun, the second DLC fighter of Street Fighter 6's Year 4 pass, on October 13. The release lands three days ahead of Legendary and Paramount's live-action Street Fighter film, which opens in US theaters October 16 — giving the franchise two separate, closely timed moments in the spotlight this month.
Who Arjun Is
Arjun is an Indian police officer built around yoga-based striking rather than the limb-stretching style associated with longtime cast member Dhalsim. Capcom's own messaging describes him as using "powerful breathing techniques" and heavy strikes it calls "brutal blows." Mechanically, he runs on a lung-capacity gauge instead of a standard special meter, a system unique to his kit that Capcom has shown off in recent gameplay trailers ahead of launch.
He's the second of four planned Year 4 characters. Yasmine already released earlier this year; Arjun is next, followed by Tifa Lockhart — a crossover pull from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series — and finally Bosch, a character introduced through Street Fighter 6's single-player World Tour mode.
Pricing and Early Access
Arjun can be bought individually for $6.99 (350 Fighter Coins) or unlocked as part of the Year 4 Character Pass ($29.99 for all four fighters) or the Year 4 Ultimate Pass ($45.99, which bundles the four characters with extra outfit colors, two additional outfits per character, and 5,800 Drive Tickets).
Players didn't have to wait until the 13th to try him. Capcom made Arjun playable early for anyone attending Evo France 2026, the fighting-game tournament that ran October 9–11 in Paris, giving the competitive community a first hands-on look before the general release.
The Movie Connection
Street Fighter's live-action reboot, directed by Kitao Sakurai, opens October 16 through Paramount under a new distribution deal with Legendary. The film is set in 1993 — the same year Street Fighter II hit arcades — and leans on a stacked cast: Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, WWE's Joe Anoa'i (Roman Reigns) as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Jason Momoa as Blanka, and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson as Balrog.
Capcom hasn't announced any in-game tie-in content for the film release, such as movie-themed costumes or crossover modes, as of this writing. The two releases appear to be coinciding by scheduling rather than by a coordinated marketing push, though that could change in the days leading up to the film's debut.
Why It Matters
Street Fighter 6 remains Capcom's flagship live-service fighter, and Year 4's drip-feed of new characters — mixing original cast members like Arjun with crossover picks like Tifa — is the main lever keeping its competitive scene and casual player base engaged more than three years after launch. A theatrical release landing in the same week, regardless of how the film itself is received, puts the Street Fighter name in front of an audience well beyond the fighting-game community, which could feed new players toward the game in the weeks that follow.
Arjun unlocks for all Street Fighter 6 players on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 on October 13.
