Scopely released Update 94.1 for Star Trek Fleet Command in early September 2026, a mid-arc patch to Update 94: "Cause and Effect," which launched August 20. The follow-up doesn't add new story content — it adjusts systems players have been using since the main update went live three weeks earlier.
What Update 94 Changed
Update 94 centers on Trelane, the reality-bending antagonist from the original Star Trek series, whose interference with a time vortex fractures five separate timelines. The Commander and Maia, the game's temporal-cartographer guide character, have to travel through each broken timeline under a mission structure called Protocol Origin and restore events to their intended course without being noticed doing it.

Each Protocol Origin thread is built around a different Star Trek captain. In Protocol Origin: Archer, Maia traces a fluctuation to Vulcan's Forge, where Vulcan has become isolationist and militaristic and the Federation is a shadow of itself. In Protocol Origin: Janeway, the Commander investigates the Federation Fleet Museum and discovers that Voyager never returned home — Janeway and her crew are missing, and the timeline has shifted around their absence. Additional threads run through Kirk-era history, each requiring the Commander to identify and correct a single altered event before it can cascade further.
Beyond the story, Update 94 overhauled the Star Trek Fleet Command Battle Pass. New Choice Tokens now drop throughout the pass and can be spent across three separate Exchanges for Artifacts, ship blueprints, ship parts, and other resources — a shift toward letting players pick rewards rather than receiving them in a fixed order. Six new Artifacts arrived alongside a reworked progression curve that front-loads their power into the first four upgrade levels. Scopely also swapped the officer abilities of Neelix and Harry Kim, aligning both more closely with their roles in Star Trek: Voyager after player feedback on the previous assignment.
The Update 94.1 Mid-Arc Patch
Update 94.1 doesn't touch the Trelane storyline directly — it's a systems patch released partway through the arc. The 7-Day Login Streak has been reworked, and Faction Bulk Claims are now available to all players at Operations level 25 and above, alongside a new Exocomp reward added to the streak's payouts.
The patch also updates Alliance Tournaments, though Scopely has noted tournaments won't run again until later in the Cause and Effect arc. Reward claiming, Bulk Research, and Wave Defense all received quality-of-life fixes aimed at cutting down repetitive taps and menu friction — Bulk Research in particular now lets players queue a node even when its prerequisites aren't finished, completing the chain automatically. Update 94.1 also introduces new measures against chat spam, plus a set of bug fixes across Infinite Incursions, ships, and in-game stores.
Why It Matters
None of this changes the shape of the current story arc, but it addresses two different complaint threads that have followed recent updates: sluggish daily-engagement systems and messy alliance chat. Scopely has leaned on mid-arc patches like this one — following a similar pattern after Update 93 — to ship quality-of-life fixes without waiting for the next full content update.
Update 94's Battle Pass Choice Tokens are tied to a hard deadline: Scopely has said unspent tokens won't carry over once the current Token Exchange closes on September 10, so players sitting on unclaimed tokens have a short window to spend them before the mid-arc's economy resets.
