Silent Hill: Townfall launches September 24, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Konami confirmed via PlayStation.Blog in June. The console version is a timed PS5 exclusive, with Konami's own trailer stating the window runs at least six months — putting a possible Xbox Series X|S release no earlier than March 2027, though no Xbox date has been announced.

The game is developed by Screen Burn Interactive, the Glasgow studio formerly known as No Code, which rebranded in July 2025. No Code built its reputation on narrative-driven titles Stories Untold and Observation, and Konami's Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto has credited that back catalog as the reason the studio was brought onto the project. Konami and Annapurna Interactive co-publish the game, which was first announced in October 2022.

Story and Setting

Townfall is a standalone spin-off, not a numbered mainline entry, with its own self-contained story separate from Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill f, or the rest of the series' continuity. It's set in St. Amelia, a fogbound, seemingly abandoned coastal town in Scotland reportedly set in the 1990s. Players control Simon Ordell, who wakes up in the water off the coast with no memory of how he got there, only an IV bag and a hospital wristband bearing his name. He heads into town guided by fragmented voices coming through a portable CRT television he finds along the way, referred to in-game as the "CRTV."

Cast

Konami revealed the English voice and performance cast in August 2026. Jovan Adepo (It: Welcome to Derry) plays Simon Ordell. Terry O'Quinn voices Richard, the man who summons Simon back to St. Amelia to "put things right." Kezia Burrows plays Zoe, a nurse whose voice reaches Simon through static on the CRTV, urging him back to her.

Gameplay

Townfall is the first Silent Hill entry — mainline or spin-off — played entirely in first person. An extended gameplay trailer released in August 2026 showed roughly 18 minutes of footage: Simon exploring St. Amelia's fog-choked streets, solving environmental puzzles, fighting monsters with a fire axe and firearms, and using the CRTV to pick up signals that guide or warn him. Konami and Screen Burn haven't detailed a full weapon list, difficulty options, or expected campaign length.

Jon McKellan, who worked on Observation, is credited as director and writer.

Timeline of a Rocky Development

Townfall's road to release wasn't smooth. In September 2024, Annapurna Interactive's entire staff resigned amid a dispute with parent company Ember, raising doubts about the project's future. Annapurna publicly reaffirmed in October 2024 that development with Screen Burn was continuing. A PlayStation State of Play in February 2026 confirmed the game for a 2026 release, and the June 2026 PlayStation Blog post locked in the September 24 date.

What's Still Unconfirmed

Konami hasn't announced pricing, edition tiers, or a Nintendo Switch 2 version. Story details beyond the setup above remain deliberately vague, and Konami hasn't confirmed how, if at all, Townfall connects to the wider Silent Hill mythology. Gamingonix will update this article as more is confirmed ahead of launch.
